and I have been working on a Transformers fanfic ([link]) and I, for some reason, got into drawing a map of Cybertron. I made it a territorial map rather than a topographical map, but I imagine Cybertron looking more like a traditional planet. What this means is that there aren't any giant ocean-sized chasms leading to the core. I guess it'd look more like the Cybertron of Beast Machines.
In this vision of Cybertron the Autobots have a single territory ruled by Rodimus Prime and a hall of Convoys. The divided regions you see are more about named territories probably divided by the landscape.
The Decepticons' territory is divided into a series of states each ruled over by their own governor. IE Polyhex is ruled over by Straxus in the city of Darkmount, who in turn answers to Megatron.
(If someone felt like applying this to a CG shear, go for it!)
Note: The little planet views at the top are more than likely inaccurate, but were more meant to show how the lines link up.
It funny Beast wars, i always assumed that in the centurys between G1 and beast wars, they had a number of modernisation projects, which as a side line, build over some of the gores. especially as a lot of the archtecture was notably different to the G1 and golden age construction.
(i get the feeling there 1 or 2 significant locations missing, but fortunatly my brain has started to slip on the munitia of TF fiction.) so the maps based on any specific interation?
It was for a fan fic. Though I want to redo it, as it's kinda weird. They also came up with a whole lot of new places between the new games and the new comic. That's a factor too. Plus I think it would be cool to put some geographical locations on the map too.
